I will stamp all over 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-bout fight which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the combatants met personally to build hype for next month's boxing match.

Ex two-time world title holder Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I'm going to injure his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to really want to injure him. That's my goal."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally famous for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead attacked former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, targeted British rival Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer said.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Fighter

Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Fury in last year.

Financial Success

However, the novice is still one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, regularly earning huge financial rewards.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in round four or five and asserted he would derail the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently being planned for 2026.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Physical Disparity

As both boxers engaged in the traditional stare-down, with their physical disparity on show, it highlighted just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is actually proceeding.
